Born on March 22, 1976, Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon is an American actress who began her career with The Man in the Moon (1991) as a child actress. She starred in Freeway and Pleasantville in 1996 and 1998 respectively and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Comedy or Musical, for the movie Election. She got her break with her role in the movie Legally Blonde (2002). She starred in Sweet Home Alabama (2002), which is considered as one her most commercially successful movie till date.
