Born on 16th April 1985, Nate Diaz is a mixed martial artist and also the victor of The Ultimate Fighter 5. His elder brother Nick Diaz was the former WEC Welterweight Champion and Strikeforce Welterweight Champion. In the February of 2016 Nate was ranked no. 5 in UFC’s official lightweight ranking.

Nick defeated Junior Assunção and Alvin Robinson through submission. He fought Kurt Pellegrino at UFC Fight Night 13. Diaz lost the first round to Pellegrino. In the second round, Diaz made him quit using the triangle choke submission.

Nate lost to Clay Guida, the former Strikeforce Lightweight Champion, through split decision at UFC 94: St. Pierre vs. Penn 2. He fought against Melvin Guillard in the UFC Fight Night 19. He put up a fight against Gray Maynard at the UFC Fight Night 20. Nate’s Welterweight debut came on 27th March 2010 against Rory Markham. After winning over Rory, Nate declared to fight in both wight categories. On 28th August 2010, Nate fought against Marcus Davis in the UFC 118. The fight earned Nate Fight of the Night honors. The Korean fighter Dong Hyun Kim won by unanimous decision at UFC 125 on 1st January 2011.
